When you use AskFirst, you enter an appointment type and a description of your situation. This text is required to generate your prep kit.
Your appointment details are used solely to generate your prep kit. They are not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any other purpose.
Your generated prep kits are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData. This data stays on your phone and is not uploaded to our servers. You can delete it anytime via Clear All Prep History in Settings.
When you choose to share a prep kit using the share button, your prep kit content is uploaded to our servers and stored temporarily to generate a shareable link. This data is stored for 7 days, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted. Shared prep kits are accessible to anyone with the link during this period. No personal identifiers are attached to shared prep kits. If you do not use the share feature, no prep kit data is stored on our servers. You can choose to share as plain text instead, which does not store any data on our servers.
To generate your prep kit, your appointment details are transmitted through our secure proxy to Anthropic's Claude API. AskFirst does not store the content of your prompts or responses on our servers after the prep kit is generated. Anthropic processes prompts according to their own data retention policies. To prevent abuse of the AI service, AskFirst generates an anonymous device identifier stored locally in your device's Keychain. Our proxy uses this identifier to enforce a prep kit limit. The identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any personal information. It cannot be used to identify you.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, health records, or any other personal information. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
AskFirst is not directed at children under 13.
You can delete the app at any time, which removes all local data. You can also clear your prep history anytime via Settings.
